Sao Paulo School of Advanced Science on Molecular Basis of Inflammatory Diseases
04 - 14 NOVEMBER 2019 - RIBEIRAO PRETO/SP, BRAZIL
THE EVENT
We are pleased to announce that from 04th – 14th November 2019 we will be running the “São Paulo School of Advanced Science on Molecular Basis of Inflammatory Diseases “. Organized by the Center for Research in Inflammatory Diseases (CRID) of Ribeirão Preto Medical School of University of São Paulo (FMRP/USP), the School is one of the São Paulo School of Advanced Science supported by Fapesp (São Paulo Research Foundation) and will cover the most relevant topics on inflammation and inflammatory diseases.
IMPORTANCE
Inflammatory diseases constitute a complex and heterogeneous group of diseases that affect more than 10% of the world population. The currently available treatment alternatives are limited and, in some cases, ineffective. Considering the need for information on the mechanisms underlying inflammatory diseases and the challenges involved in identifying new therapeutic targets, the São Paulo School of Advanced Science will bring together specialists, prominent in the field of inflammatory diseases, from Brazil and abroad, as well as students from worldwide. The goal is to advance knowledge and present the state of the art in research on inflammatory diseases.
GOALS
The School of Advanced Science will provide cutting-edge knowledge and research on basic and translational aspects of inflammation and inflammatory diseases. The school will focus on molecular facets of inflammatory diseases, fundamental for the discovery of new targets, medicines and therapies. Internationally renowned researchers in the field of immunopharmacology will address mechanisms involved in the development of many inflammatory diseases such as malaria, leishmaniasis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s, diabetes, atherosclerosis and cancer.
APPLICATION AND COSTS
The Advanced School will select 80 young investigators, including PhD students, Post-docs fellows and Young Researches (up to 10 years from PhD): 40 international and 40 Brazilians candidates.
