Luke O’Neill

Luke A. O’Neill, Ph.D., Senior Lecturer at the School of Biochemistry and Immunology, Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. Dr. O’Neill coordinates a research group interested in molecular understanding of innate immunity and inflammation. Their studies have been contributing to the identification of new molecules and metabolic pathways that are triggered in immune cells by infection sensors / receptors and tissue injury, including Toll-like receptors and inflammomas, and signs that stimulate inflammation, notably cytokines, including interleukin-1. Dr. O’Neill is the author of over 260 scientific papers. Their studies have been published in leading journals of the field, including: Nature, Nature Medicine, Nature Immunology, and Immunity. Dr. O’Neill has received numerous awards including the European Federation of Immunology Societies Medal and the Royal Irish Academy Gold Medal for Life Sciences. He was elected a member of the European Molecular Biology Organization-EMBO. A complete list of your publications can be found here.
