Tim Sparwasser, M.D. Ph.D., is a Full Professor at the Institute of Infection Immunology at Hannover Medical School. Dr. Sparwasser coordinates a research group interested in understanding pathogen-host interactions and the mechanisms that activate and regulate the immune response induced by infection. In addition, they explore the cellular metabolism and molecular processes of immune responses associated with infection and autoimmunity in the search for new ways to modulate the immune response, which ultimately aims to translate the findings of this basic research into clinical applications. Dr. Sparwasser is the author of over 200 scientific papers. His studies have been published in leading journals in the area, including: Nature Medicine, Immunity, Cell Metabolism, and Journal of Experimental Medicine. Dr. Sparwasser has received several awards including the DGHM Young Investigator Award and is a member of the German National Academic Foundation.
